Position Title: Senior Information Architect

Location: Boston

Overview:

Burntsand is hiring to fill an increased need for a senior information architect with portal, taxonomy and custom application development experience. We are looking for individuals who can perform either independently or in a team environment to drive the successful delivery of useful, usable, and compelling enterprise solutions to our clients.

We are hiring senior-level IA consultants who have a minimum of four to five years of experience with large projects. A background in consulting is preferred. Most work is performed at client sites within the New England.

Burntsand's team of user experience specialists differentiates us from other technology services firms. Our team works within technology and package constraints to create compelling user experiences including intranets and extranets, custom desktop applications, and content-managed web sites. Senior members of the user experience team also consult as business analysts and taxonomy experts, helping leading companies to organize and categorize information for ease of retrieval and use. Our client list includes well known global enterprises in industries such as healthcare, life sciences, and media and entertainment.

General Experience:

Overall information architecture experience - 4-5 years
Prior consulting experience preferred
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science or related field

Specific Experience:

Excellence in problem-solving and idea generation
Site mapping, wireframing and prototyping using Visio, HTML, paper prototypes
User testing, use cases and profile/scenario development
Workflow and taxonomy best practices
Highly developed communication and presentation skills
"Light" project and team management abilities
Creative outlook and supportive team player
Deep understanding of consensus-building within large organizations
Disciplined self-starter able to manage work to successful completion
Ability to communicate ideas to designers, clients, and technologists and broker compromises
Proven experience completing IA work for portals as well as web sites and custom applications
Excellent specification/documentation and end user training skills
Experience with healthcare, financial services, or media & entertainment a plus
Work sample showing problem-solving for a complex business solution is required (wireframes are preferred)

Tools:

Microsoft Visio, Office PowerPoin
Basic HTML familiarity (coding not required but familiarity is essential)
SharePoint or Documentum product/feature knowledge a plu

Soft Skills:

Diplomatic (all great consultants display this trait)
Technically adept (you have current skills and are able to deploy them across a variety of projects and solutions)
Communication (you can converse with customer and team members of all levels)
Committed (to your customer, your team and your project)
