Position Title: Senior Information Architect

Location: Boston

Overview:

Burntsand is looking for a Senior Information Architect to join our growing User Experience Practice. We are looking for someone to bring their passion for end user experience to our multi-disciplinary team, which includes business analysts, visual designers, and developers. We are looking for an individual who can perform either independently or in a team environment to drive the successful delivery of useful, usable, and compelling enterprise solutions to our clients. Most work is performed at client sites within the New England.

The Role:

Interview business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end users to gather requirements
Translate business requirements and end user goals into effective user interfaces
Collaborate with your User Experience peers at Burntsand as well as your core project team
Articulate user experience issues and act as a consistent end-user advocate
Create site maps, personas, storyboards, wireframes, and click-through prototypes
Present the Information Architecture deliverables to clients
Conduct usability testing
Effectively balance usability best practices with technical options and constraints on a project-by-project basis
Keep up with usability and interface design best practices
Contribute to the growth of the department and overall organization by bringing innovative ideas for delivering maximum business vale to our customers

General Experience:

Overall information architecture experience - 5+ years
In depth knowledge of user experience design methodologies and best practices
Prior consulting experience preferred
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science or related field

Specific Experience:

Excellence in problem-solving and idea generation
Site mapping, wireframing and prototyping
User testing, use cases and profile/scenario development
Workflow and taxonomy best practices
Highly developed communication and presentation skills
"Light" project and team management abilities
Creative outlook and supportive team player
Deep understanding of consensus-building within large organizations
Disciplined self-starter able to manage work to successful completion
Ability to communicate ideas to designers, clients, and technologists and broker compromises
Proven experience completing IA work for portals as well as web sites and custom applications
Excellent specification/documentation and end user training skills
Experience with healthcare, financial services, or media & entertainment a plus
Work sample showing problem-solving for a complex business solution is required (wireframes are preferred)

Microsoft Visio, Office PowerPoin
Expression Blend and Sketchflow a plus

Diplomatic (all great consultants display this trait)
Technically adept (you have current skills and are able to deploy them across a variety of projects and solutions)
