Position Title: Microsoft Infrastructure Consultant

Location: San Jose

Overview:

General Experience:

Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft platform –based infrastructure principles and technologies such as Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, SQL Server etc
Understanding of systems integration, topology, security, identity management, policy management, virtualization, SOA, SaaS, etc
Solid knowledge and experience of Microsoft licensing and support terms desired
Microsoft platform and technologies based Projects - 6+ years
Overall software development experience - 9+ years
Prior consulting / contracting experience preferred
Excellent oral and written skills, teamwork attitude and ability to learn quickly
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science or related field

Specific Experience:

Provide detailed architecture analysis and design, and direction on the infrastructure setup activities
Provide leadership in gaining insight on functional and non-functional requirements related to required infrastructure.
Lead the effort to properly setup the required system infrastructure.
Assist the project teams in pre-sales activities
Design and setup the infrastructure for the project including hardware, software, security, policies etc
Microsoft certification like MCSE preferred
Proven expertise with configuring Exchange, Active Directory, MOSS, SMS, Windows Servers, Commerce Server etc.
Active experience with setting up DMZs, intranet and internet zones and access policies
Proficient with disaster recovery, system backup and restore, threat detection and perimeter protection mechanisms

Responsibilities:

Create the architectural deliverables for the project. Recommend best-in-class solution architecture identifying functional as well non-functional parameters
Act as a senior technical resource at client locations and guide the project teams as well as customer on important technological decisions
As a technical leader, ensure smooth and top-quality delivery of project in collaboration with project manager and the project team
Participate in design, setup and test cycles.
Take individual responsibility in self-growth to server clients in a better fashion

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) which should help you to put forth your view in crisp and concise manner
Professional and consultative mindset with commitment for excellent customer service
Ability to patiently explain the technology and products to customers in layman’s terms
Ability to come up with creative solutions for ambiguous problems
