Our Collaboration Practice:
Burntsand's Collaboration practice focuses on creating solutions to deliver workflow automation through portals, registries and content management. Role Responsibilities:
As a Burntsand consultant, your duties will include interacting with user, business and executive groups to help define the client's needs and translating those needs into a solution of value. As a partner to our clients, we do what is necessary to help them be a success. The ability to empathize with and understand the business needs of the client is one of the single most important characteristics you bring to the job as well as a great attitude toward teamwork and superb technical ability.
As a Solution Architect you will have strong business problem solving, technical, communication, negotiation and change management skills. You will:
- Lead the development and deployment of solutions in the Microsoft Stack that solve business problems.
- Create the architectural deliverables for the project. Recommend best-in-class solution architecture identifying functional as well non-functional parameters.
- Aid in preparing, designing and reviewing solution architectures for standard and enterprise MS SharePoint installations (for MOSS Records Management, Collaboration, Document Management and Web Content Management functionality), both standalone and with integration to other systems.
- Aid in analyzing user requirements, technical design, detailed design, programming, peer to peer reviews, documentation and support.
- Participate in preparing, designing and reviewing solution architectures for building multi tier distributed application architectures and .net service oriented architectures.
- Act as liaison between client and project team - recommend tools and platforms necessary to deliver the best possible solution and ensure quality and timeliness of every project.
- Participate in design, setup and test cycles.
- Assist in creation of prototypes, POCs, presentations, and sales collateral.
- As a technical leader, ensure smooth and top-quality delivery of project in collaboration with project manager and the project team.
- Follow frameworks, but know when to diverge from them.
- Mentor developers to understand the architecture and the rationale for the decisions it represents.
- Develop technology solution roadmaps and identify how we can differentiate our solution, as well as future impacts of solution decisions.
- Provide documentation on all architecture decisions and best practice approaches to implementing the architecture design based on communication with project teams.
Role Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of software architecture principles as applies to enterprise solutions and application architectures.
- Experienced in life cycle deployment of mid sized (100 to 200 users) to large (>2000 users) MOSS Records Management, Collaboration, Search and Web Content Management functionality
- Experience building multi tier distributed application architectures and .net service oriented architectures
- Solid knowledge and experience on Microsoft technology landscape including various server products such as SharePoint.
- Programming skills as required (c#, vb.net, HTML, css, javascript, asp.net, asp)
- Database programming and administration skills
- Familiarity with TFS and other source control systems
- Experience communicating solutions to clients in a consulting environment
- Excellent oral and written skills, teamwork attitude and ability to learn quickly.
- Active experience with customizing intranet and internet sites on MOSS and understanding of underlying technologies such as CAML.
- Professional and consultative mindset with commitment for excellent customer service.
- Ability to patiently explain the technology and products to customers in laymans terms.
- Strong ability to solve complex problems and optimize software development process Initiative, hard-working, professional team player, ability to quickly master new technology and cooperation
- Passionate about technology, visionary in the approach to how it can be used
- Good planning and organization skills, strong ability to handle high pressure, and time sensitive situations
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science or related field
