ReMS Solution Framework
The ReMS solution framework is based on the principal that despite the myriad of functionality available to regulated organizations, there are always unique aspects of the business processes that do not map to out of the box processes and that change is a constant. Often times when you purchase commercial off the shelf products (COTS) on the lower end of the cost continuum you find yourself limited in the customizations you can make. In turn, you have to tailor your processes to fit the model which you have purchased. However, the very nature of what you do defines the solution and that is why ReMS is so appealing. As your organization grows, you can tune, add, and remove functionality using the toolkits provided. This functionality can be provided with configuration of values within tables as well as utilizing the framework to create customizations to handle more sophisticated needs. Technical Foundation
ReMS is built on a technology platform that represents a "best of breed" approach for mid market and departmental enterprises. The solution leverages key infrastructure from Microsoft and Pivotal CRM technology as well as other complementary components. To run ReMS, you will need in place a Microsoft infrastructure that includes Exchange, SQL Server, IIS and a firewall server. For those who have already deployed this infrastructure, ReMS represents an excellent opportunity to leverage that infrastructure. By using a 3-tier internet application architecture with clear separation of the presentation services tier (user interface), business services tier (where business logic resides), and the data services tier (where customer/member data is kept separate from metadata) we are able to deliver an exceptionally low TCO.
This architecture enables organizations to save substantial time and resources by centralizing application customization, development and maintenance at the middle tier. With graphical tools for customizing the look, feel and functionality delivered at the presentation services tier, the business services tier and database services tier, changes to business logic can be made quickly and efficiently with little impact on existing applications. Because there is no software requirement on the client, the distribution of both application and data modifications to users regardless of their location or access method is streamlined.
The solution also brings together one of the more challenging areas of information management into a single view. Both records and document functionality is available to the user from a single access point. The user can scan, capture, store, and retrieve customer information with the click of a button right from the ReMS solution.
Automated email processing, compliance rules, classification, retention, workflow and library services are available in this solution.
